Privacy Policy
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
This Privacy Policy explains how [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you use Free Invoice Maker, including the website at fimfreeinvoicemaker.com and our iOS and Android applications (together, the “Service”).
1. Information we collect
Account information you provide: first and last name, company name, email address, phone number, password (stored only as a one-way hash), and optional business details such as address, website and industry.
Business content you create: your company profile and logo, your customers' names and contact details (name, company, email, phone, billing and service addresses), and invoices (line items, amounts, dates, notes, terms and the status you record).
Usage information: basic product events such as sign-in, invoice created, invoice downloaded, and which platform (web, iOS or Android) was used. On our public website we count page views using a random identifier stored in your browser; we do not use advertising cookies.
Technical information: IP address and device/browser type, used for security (for example rate limiting and preventing abuse) and to keep you signed in.
Free Invoice Maker does not process payments and does not collect payment card numbers, CVV codes or bank account numbers.
2. How we use information
- To provide the Service: create and store invoices and customers, generate PDFs, and sync your data across web and mobile.
- To secure the Service: authenticate you, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep audit records of administrative access.
- To communicate with you: account emails such as password resets, an optional welcome email, and replies to support requests.
- To provide customer support: with your request or when needed to resolve an issue, authorized administrators may access your account. Every such access is recorded.
- To understand and improve the Service using aggregated usage information.
- To tell you about optional related services. For example, we may occasionally show information about Paydan, a separate payment-processing and business-management provider. Whether you click through is up to you.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- With service providers that host our infrastructure and deliver email on our behalf, under obligations to protect it. [LIST PROVIDERS, e.g. hosting provider, email provider]
- With [PAYDAN LEGAL ENTITY], our business partner, as described here: [DESCRIBE WHAT, IF ANYTHING, IS SHARED — e.g. contact details of users who sign up, for the purpose of offering payment-processing services]. Counsel must confirm this disclosure and any required consent.
- If required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users or others.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice to you.
4. Your customers' information
When you add your customers' details to Free Invoice Maker, you are responsible for having the right to share that information with us for the purpose of creating invoices. We use it only to provide the Service to you.
5. Data retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings; this permanently deletes your account, company profile, customers and invoices. Limited records (for example security and audit logs, and anonymized usage statistics) may be retained for [RETENTION PERIOD] as permitted by law.
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted connections (HTTPS), password hashing, access controls, and audit logging. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
You can access and update your information in the app at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, correction, deletion or portability). To make a request, contact us at [PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL]. [ADD STATE/COUNTRY-SPECIFIC DISCLOSURES AS ADVISED BY COUNSEL, e.g. CCPA/CPRA.]
8. Children
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required by local law). We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. If we make material changes we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
